WorldMaker

WorldMaker was a short-lived company building tools for sharing 3D virtual worlds.

Mitra, a co-founder and its CTO, was one of the authors of VRML2.0 which is the only reason you'd have heard of WorldMaker. If you are interested in any of the papers related to the creation of VRML2.0, there is an archive available which shows how the standard developed during the collaboration between Sony, Mitra and SGI.

Mitra and Gregory Slayton - WorldMaker's president were recruited by ParaGraph International, a Russian-American company that also built shared worlds, after successfully assisting ParaGraph in being recognized as a technology leader, it was aquired by Silicon Graphics's Cosmo division.

Gregory is now president of ClickAction - a publicly listed company www.clickaction.com
